Set sail on a scenic dinner cruise on the Potomac River or take in the thrill of Major League Baseball at Nationals Park. Explore the historic and charming Virginia towns of Occoquan and Leesburg, and spend some time in Annapolis, Maryland.

 

Indulge in a decadent hot chocolate tasting, take a vineyard tour with wine tasting, and learn how to make your own sangria.

Day One

Arrive in Washington DC, our nation’s capital! After checking in to the DoubleTree Crystal City for 6 nights, join you fellow guests this evening for an included welcome dinner.

Day Two

After breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide and fellow guests for a visit to the Tall Ship Providence for a historical dockside tour. Meet Captain John Paul Jones and experience life as a Continental Navy recruit. Enjoy lunch on your own in Old Town Alexandria before a guided walking tour exploring George Washington’s early life. Return to the hotel to relax and freshen up for dinner on your own at one of many nearby local restaurants. Tonight, step back on the motorcoach for an illuminated monuments tour. See iconic landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the White House.

Day Three

Today, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a visit to Arlington National Cemetery. Spanning more than 600 acres, this hallowed ground honors the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes. During your included tram ride, visit President John F. Kennedy’s gravesite, U.S. Coastguard Memorial, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Memorial Amphitheater and other notable stops. This afternoon, enjoy free time and lunch on your own at the Smithsonian Museums. Choose from world-class options such as the National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, National Gallery of Art, or the powerful National Museum of African American History and Culture, all within easy walking distance and offering something for everyone. Tonight, set sail for a scenic dinner cruise on the Potomac River! Or, if you prefer, head to Nationals Park to watch the Washington Nationals face off against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Day Four

After breakfast at the hotel, head to Mount Vernon, the estate of George Washington, for a guided mansion tour and wreath laying ceremony. Explore the grounds and visit the Ford Orientation Center. While here, enjoy lunch on your own. This afternoon, travel to the charming town of Occoquan, Virginia, for a guided walking tour. This historic riverfront town has multiple art galleries, boutiques, antique stores and restaurants. Enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers at Madigan’s Waterfront, a locally owned seafood and steak restaurant.

Day Five

Don’t get too full at breakfast this morning, because we’re heading to Leesburg, Virginia to enjoy a hot chocolate tasting at The Conche, an exclusive chocolate themed boutique restaurant. While in Leesburg, enjoy shopping and lunch on your own in historic downtown. Then it’s off to Zephaniah Farm Vineyard for a wine tasting and vineyard tour, where you can experience local wines in a historic setting. Afterwards, learn the art of sangria-making and hand craft your perfect recipe with a sangria-making class at Bluemont Vineyard. End the day with dinner at Clyde’s at Willow Creek Farm, a charming restaurant that blends historic elegance with modern American cuisine.

Day SIx

After breakfast this morning, travel to Annapolis for a guided walking tour of the U.S. Naval Academy. Explore the historic grounds and rich military traditions.For lunch today, indulge in an authentic all-you-can-eat Marland Crab Feast, before relaxing aboard a scenic 1-hour canal cruise. Enjoy spending some free time in downtown Annapolis to shop, explore the waterfront or visit the many historical landmarks. Dinner this evening is on your own.

Check out of the hotel after breakfast, before returning to the airport for your return flight home.
