Hiking opportunities include climbing up to Scouts Lookout with views of Angels Landing, a longer hike through Zion Canyon Narrows or, for those that prefer easy walking while still enjoying the towering cliffs of Zion, try the flat Pa’rus Trail. Easier hikes include the Emerald Pools Trail or the Riverside Walk, each taking around two hours to complete.
Day Three
Traverse the San Rafel Swell as you travel from Cedar City to Moab, UT. Hike to Mesa Arch, located within Canyonlands National Park, for an up-close view of one of the most photographed arches in the Southwestern US. Visit an Ancestral Pueblo Granary. Explore the Grand Viewpoint and hike along the rim of the Island in the Sky. A scenic drive/hike along the Colorado River showcases ancient petroglyphs depicting animals, humans, and geometric patterns carved onto red-rock walls.
FBDay Four
Continue trekking through Arches National Park on a hike to Landscape Arch, one of the longest natural arches in the world. Visit the Windows Section and Double Arch. Continue your journey on to Goblin Valley State Park with yet more unusual rock formations just outside of Capitol Reef. Then, hike to the Hickman Bridge, a 133-foot natural bridge, or go down to the Grand Wash to explore Capital Reef National Park’s deep canyons and narrows. Hike to Sulphur Creek Overlook and enjoy Panoramic Point.
FBDay Five
Spend the morning visiting more of Capitol Reef with stops and short hiking opportunities that may include Cohab Canyon, Cassidy Arch, Chimney Rock, or Sulphur Creek, before continuing over Scenic Highway 12. We continue our journey to Bryce Canyon National Park for a short hike to Mossy Cave. End the day with some good 'ol fashioned western hospitality at classic Ruby’s Inn.
FBDay Six
Rise early to watch the sun rise over Bryce Canyon from one of its many viewpoints. Traverse Cedar Mountain and the Virgin River Rim to Cedar Breaks National Monument. After lunch, begin your journey back driving past Red Canyon, then lastly passing through the East Section of Zion for one last stop to marvel at the sandstone monoliths and towers.
