Thanksgiving in San Diego 2025

Day One

Travel from Phoenix to San Diego and step into the iconic Hotel del Coronado for a historian led tour. You’ll visit some of the most historical rooms on the property and learn about this wooden Victorian beach resort, built in 1888, and one of the last surviving structures of its kind. Venture to the Founders Lawn outside and take in the Holiday Lightshow Spectacular. This light display showcases the Norfolk Pine that was originally made famous in 1904 as the world’s first electrically lit outdoor Christmas Tree. After check-in to the Embassy Suites San Diego, join your fellow guests for an Evening Reception from 5:30 to 7pm (included). Spend the rest of the evening on your own exploring San Diego. A $25 dining voucher per room is included.

Day Two

Happy Thanksgiving! Spend the morning relaxing and the day exploring on your own. Stroll through San Diego’s vibrant Gaslamp Quarter and admire the Victorian-era architecture. Wander the shops of Seaport Village and see the festive poinsettia tree, ride the historic carousel and enjoy live street entertainers. Early this evening, embark on a Thanksgiving Gourmet Dinner Cruise. On board you will enjoy a celebratory chef-prepared buffet with all the trimmings. Take in the incredible views of San Diego’s iconic waterfront, including the Coronado Bay Bridge, the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, the Star of India, and the Naval Air Station North Island. Enjoy festive décor and background music while you dine. Choose to purchase a creative craft cocktail, wine, or beer from the fully stocked bar. Sit back and enjoy the ride as the crew takes care of the details.

Day Three

Wake to enjoy breakfast at the hotel (included), before departing. On the way back to Phoenix, visit the Yuma Territorial Prison, built in 1876. At the prison, take part in a True Crimes Mystery Activity. Search the museum for the answers to questions about crimes and prisoners. Answer correctly, and you’ll receive a skeleton key, leading to your escape from prison! The Yuma Territorial Prison housed a variety of law violators, including the legendary stagecoach robber Pearl Hart. The facility operated as a prison for 33 years, then later served a variety of purposes, including a stint from 1910 until 1914 as Yuma High School. To this day, the school’s athletic teams are known as “The Criminals”. There will be time for lunch on your own in Yuma before continuing back to Phoenix.
