Day One
Today we depart Phoenix and head towards the beautiful rolling hills of Temecula, California, the largest viticultural region in Southern California. As we ride along roads lined with grape vines, we come upon the beautiful Wilson Creek Winery and Vineyards for our first wine tasting. This family-owned winery started in 1996 by Gerry and Rosie Wilson, who still own and operate the winery with their children and grandchildren. Known for their famous Almond Sparkling Wine (formerly known as Almond Champagne), Gerry is especially proud that Wilson Creek is the unofficial winery of many Navy ships, including eight aircraft carriers.
This afternoon we check-in to the Embassy Suites hotel before joining your fellow travelers for an evening reception. The rest of the night is yours for dinner on your own and to rest or explore.
Day Two
After an included breakfast at the hotel, depart for Carlsbad Flower Fields. Enjoy a relaxing open air tractor ride through 55-acres of blooming Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers! This annual burst of color covers the rolling hills of Carlsbad Ranch for six to eight weeks per year. Announcing the arrival of spring, this natural display of beauty is one of the most spectacular in the world! We travel from beautiful flowers to lush citrus groves, as we visit Belle Marie Winery. Our wine tasting will take place in the elegant and expansive Barrel Room. Belle Marie is a small, family-owned and operated boutique winery, with a French-style chateau castle as a centerpiece of their 3.5-acre winery. This afternoon, explore Old Town Temecula on your own. Visit one of the many tasting rooms or craft breweries, discover the quaint boutique shops, or wander through the rustic buildings and storefronts reminiscent of the historic golden west of the 1880s. Join your fellow guests at the hotel for an evening reception, then continue exploring downtown, or choose to relax for the night.
FBDay Three
Have a leisurely included breakfast at the hotel this morning. After packing up, depart for another unique Temecula winery for a final wine tasting experience. It’s then off to Palm Springs where we’ll check-in to the Hilton Palm Springs for the night. In Palm Spring, the playground of the Hollywood elite, enjoy exploring the many shops, galleries and restaurants downtown. Take a photo with the 26-foot-tall Marilyn Monroe statue, ‘Forever Marilyn’. Visit the Palm Springs Art Museum or stroll the Walk of Stars. This evening, enjoy the Palm Springs VillageFest, a lively pedestrian street fair on Palm Canyon Drive that features arts, crafts, food, and entertainment. Take in the sights, smells, and sounds of flowers, fruits and vegetables, international cuisine, local entertainers, and artisans. Enjoy dinner on your own at Village Fest, or one of the many diverse restaurants downtown.
FBDay Four
Enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel before we head to the top of Mt. San Jacinto! The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the largest rotating tram car in the world. Watch the scenery change as you travel over 2 ½ miles along the cliffs of Chino Canyon. Soak in the breathtaking view and the cool mountain air as you enjoy lunch at the top. After a memorable lunch, head down the mountain for our ride back to Phoenix.
