Day One
Today we depart the Valley and head to sunny San Diego, “the birthplace of California”! After checking-in to the Embassy Suites, enjoy a happy hour reception with your fellow travelers. The rest of the evening is yours to explore downtown San Diego and the nearby Gaslamp Quarter.
Day Two
Breakfast is included at the hotel before we depart for the beautiful Balboa Park. The park is one of the oldest parks in the United States, dating back to 1868. It’s 1,200 acres includes 18 museums, numerous gardens and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. You’ll receive a 4 Museum Pass, which provides access to any four of the museums. You may choose to visit the Japanese Friendship Garden, the Museum of Photographic Arts, The San Diego Arts Museum, or the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center, to name just a few.

Happy Independence Day! After an included breakfast this morning we’ll visit the San Diego Maritime Museum. Located on the North Embarcadaro in downtown San Diego, the museum houses a world-renowned collection of historic ships, including the Star of India, the world’s oldest active sailing ship. Explore the ships and learn about our country’s incredible maritime history. After an evening reception at the hotel, climb aboard a boat on the San Diego Bay for a dinner cruise with an open bar. Enjoy a delicious dinner, drinks and music before marveling at the impressive 4th of July fireworks display, the ‘Big Bay Boom’, and the beautiful San Diego skyline. San Diego boasts the largest Independence Day fireworks show in Southern California, and you’ll witness it up close from the water!
