Day One
Today we leave Phoenix and head towards sunny California. When we arrive, it’s straight to the top of Mt. San Jacinto! The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is home to the world’s largest rotating tram car. Watch the scenery change as you travel over 2 ½ miles along the cliffs of Chino Canyon. Soak in the breathtaking view and the cool mountain air while enjoying lunch at the top. After checking into your hotel, take a walk to Palm Canyon Drive to experience the Palm Springs Village Fest, a lively pedestrian street fair that features arts, crafts, food, and entertainment. Take in the sights, smells, and sounds of flowers, fruits and vegetables, international cuisine, local entertainers, and artisans. Enjoy dinner on your own at Village Fest, or one of the many diverse restaurants downtown.
LDay Two
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a visit to the Palm Spring Windmill Farm. See these giant turbines up close and learn how wind, solar, and battery storage work together to power the Coachella Valley. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and high winds; wear close-toed shoes and secure your hat and belongings. Then the afternoon is yours to discover Palm Springs! Take some time to stroll through the many shops and galleries downtown along Palm Canyon Drive or visit the Palm Springs Art Museum or Agua Caliente Casino. This evening, step back to yesteryear during dinner at Billy Reed’s Palm Springs. This old school gem is a throwback to when hospitality was an art form. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day in an atmosphere that exudes warmth, discover why this hidden gem has been a Palm Springs landmark since 1975.
