Prepare to be amazed at one of the most unique performances in the world, the Pageant of the Masters. Travel to Laguna Beach where you will witness artwork come to life before your eyes in a star-lit, open-air amphitheater. The Pageant of the Masters is a production of artwork, re-created with real people posing in elaborate sets. The 2026 theme “The Greatest of All Time” will showcase the art and artists who have defined history.

 

Also in Laguna Beach, visit the Sawdust Art Festival, featuring more than 180 artists and their works in a unique art village with sawdust covered pathways, and the Festival of the Arts, one of the top art festivals in the nation. Enjoy dinner at Terra Laguna, a high-end California cuisine restaurant on the Festival grounds.

 

Climb aboard the Catalina Express to spend a day in the historic and picturesque town of Avalon on Catalina Island and spend an evening exploring Dana Point.

Day One

Depart the Valley on your way to California, with the first stop in Palm Springs for lunch on your own. Choose from a variety of restaurants downtown and be sure to fit in a photo op with the 26-foot-tall Marilyn Monroe statue, ‘Forever Marilyn’. Then venture on to Ayers Hotel, Laguna Woods. This villa-style hotel has a beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy an included happy hour reception, before getting to know your fellow travelers during a private dinner.

Day Two

Breakfast is included at the hotel before heading to Laguna Beach and visiting the Sawdust Art Festival. Stroll the rustic sawdust covered pathways of this unique art village to see more than 180 artists and their works. Enjoy live music, food vendors and drinks at the saloon. Spend the day exploring Laguna Beach on your own, or head back to the hotel this afternoon to rest and freshen up. This evening, visit the Festival of the Arts, one of the top art festivals in the nation. Take in the exhibits and listen to live music while visiting with Orange County artists. Enjoy an included dinner at Terra Laguna, a high-end California cuisine restaurant on the grounds of The Festival of the Arts. Then settle into your reserved seat for the incredible Pageant of the Masters. Watch art come to life before your eyes in a star-lit, open-air amphitheater. Famous works of art are re-created with real people posing in elaborate sets, in one of the most unique productions in the world. The 2026 theme “The Greatest of All Time” will showcase the art and artists who have defined history.

Day Three

Today, start with breakfast at the hotel before heading to Dana Point to catch the Catalina Express for a visit to Catalina Island. Upon arriving in Avalon, the only incorporated city on Catalina, take in the picture-perfect views and stroll through the many shops and restaurants downtown. There are golf carts available to rent to explore the island on your own, or you may choose to join the optional Discover Avalon tour (additional cost). Discover Avalon is a scenic driving tour that provides an overview of the city and delves into the area’s history and folklore. After a ride on the return ferry, spend some time exploring Dana Point and enjoying dinner on your own. This relaxed, upscale beach town is the starting point of the Pacific Coast Highway and has numerous places for shopping and dining.

After a final included breakfast at the hotel, bid farewell to southern California and depart for the return trip to Phoenix.
