HISTORIC SAVANNAH - CHARLESTON - JEKYLL ISLAND

Savannah, Georgia is separated from South Carolina by the Savannah River.  It is known for manicured parks, horse drawn carriage and antebellum architecture.  Its historic district is filled with cobblestoned squares & parks shaded by oak trees covered with Spanish moss. At the center of the district is the landmark, Gothic-Revival Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.

Charleston, South Carolina is a port city defined by its cobblestone streets & pastel antebellum houses, especially the French Quarter & Battery districts. The Battery promenade & Waterfront Park both overlook the Charleston Harbor, while Fort Sumter, a federal stronghold where the first shots of the Civil War rang out, lies across the water.

Jekyll Island, Georgia is one of the Golden Isles of Georgia barrier islands. The island is a former hunting reserve for America’s top millionaires. Goodyear, Pulitzer, and Rockefeller all built elaborate “cottages” here.

This afternoon enjoy a Charleston City Tour. Built on a peninsula, Charleston has remained a beautiful port city for over 300 years. Both preservation and southern gentility are a way of life here. See the Historic District, Citadel, and Battery Park. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers at a popular local restaurant in Charleston.
