Bellevue Botanical Garden is a 53-acre oasis with themed gardens including a fabulous perennial border, fuchsia collection, a Japanese garden plus gardens featuring waterwise plants, ground covers, alpine plants and more.

 

Chihuly Glass Garden has the indoor galleries that are each unique and filled with art glass masterpieces created by the studio of world-renowned artist, Dale Chihuly.

 

Heronswood is now owned by the Port Gamble S’Klallam tribe which is diligently working to build community and connection to the land and nature.

 

Hartley Park is on the campus of Royal Roads University. The mansion and gardens have been used for numerous movies and TV shows.

 

Butchart Gardens  is a 55-acre garden that is one of the world’s premier public gardens and contains many distinct and unusual areas to explore.

 

 

The climate of the Pacific Northwest creates an ideal environment for multiple species of plants to thrive. Spend five days exploring some of the most lush and beautiful gardens in the region.

From Seattle to Victoria, we’ll visit renowned public gardens such as Bellevue Botanical Garden, Chihuly Garden and Glass and the world-famous Butchart Gardens. You’ll also be treated to tours of several private gardens, and three scenic ferry rides.

Your guide, Lois Moss, is a Master Gardener and the former treasurer of The Hardy Plant Society of Oregon. Lois has led several garden-themed tours and now focuses on tours that highlight the world-class gardens and horticulture of the Pacific Northwest.

Day One

Arrive in Seattle, meet your guide, Lois Moss, and board your hightop luxury van. After lunch, possibly at a private garden, visit Bellevue Botanical Garden, a 53-acre oasis with themed gardens and a fabulous perennial border. After a visit to another private garden or two, enjoy a welcome dinner before checking-in to your waterside hotel north of Seattle.

Day Two

After an included breakfast, we’ll venture to downtown Seattle to visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass. Both the indoor galleries and outdoor garden are spectacular, featuring art glass masterpieces by world-renowned artist, Dale Chihuly. Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the many nearby restaurants, and possibly visit the iconic Space Needle during your free time. This afternoon we’ll visit some private gardens before returning to the hotel. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own in Edmonds, a quaint, scenic arts town with many shops and eateries.

Day Three

This morning, we cross Puget Sound from Edmonds aboard the ferry enroute to Kingston, on the Kitsap Peninsula. Our first visit will be to Heronswood Garden, a 15-acre botanical garden exhibiting plant varieties from around the world. We’ll then enjoy lunch in the fascinating and scenic town of Port Gamble, one of the oldest communities in the Pacific Northwest. After lunch, visit a private garden on or way to Port Angeles, gateway to Olympic National Park. This afternoon we board a ferry for a 90-minute ride that will take us into Canada. Be on the lookout for whales along the way and take in the views of snowcapped mountains in the distance. We arrive in Victoria, British Columbia at 7pm and check-in to our hotel. Choose to enjoy dinner on your own aboard the ferry, or at one of the many restaurants in Victoria after check-in.

Day Four

Breakfast is included before our visit to Hatley Park on the campus of Royal Roads University. The mansion and gardens have been used for numerous movies and TV shows. We continue to the world-famous Butchart Gardens, a 55-acre garden containing many distinct and unusual areas. Savor a wonderful high tea in the historic dining room at the Gardens. Enjoy Butchart Gardens at your leisure, as the van will make trips from the Gardens to the hotel throughout the afternoon. Explore downtown Victoria this evening for dinner on your own.

Day Five

After an included breakfast, we’ll board the 10:30 am ferry back to Port Angeles. Have lunch on the ferry before our drive through Kitsap Peninsula and Tacoma on the way to the Seattle airport for your 4pm or later departure, or you hotel if you choose to stay in Seattle longer (not included).
