Your journey begins in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. Stand at the equatorial line, and marvel at the monastery of San Francisco. From Quito, fly to Baltra Island where your Galapagos adventure begins. The wildlife is plentiful and includes blue-footed boobies, fur seals, sea lions, pelicans, Galapagos penguins, flamingos and tortoises. There will be many opportunities to snorkel from the beach, and explore the grottos and scenic vistas.
Quito - Ecuador's capital, sits high in the Andean foothills at an altitude of 2,850m. Constructed on the foundations of an ancient Incan city, its known for its well-preserved colonial center, rich with 16th- and 17th-century churches and other structures blending European, Moorish and indigenous styles.
Santiago Island - It is one of the Galápagos Islands. The island, which consists of two overlapping volcanoes, has an area of 585 square kilometers and a maximum altitude of 907 meters, atop the northwestern shield volcano.
San Cristobal Island - It is the fifth largest and easternmost island of Galápagos. It is comprised of three or four fused volcanoes, all extinct. It is the easternmost island in the Galápagos archipelago, as well as one of the oldest geologically.
