Flagstaff was the first International Dark Sky City and its here that you will marvel at the night sky at Lowell Observatory. The Observatory is known for the discovery of Pluto, among other astrological wonders and is home to one of the finest collections of telescopes available for public viewing.
Visit the Arizona Copper Art Museum, stroll the charming downtown area of Cottonwood and get your fill of great food and entertainment at Black Barts Steakhouse, Saloon and Musical Review, a Flagstaff staple for more than 40 years.
Take to the skies aboard the Snowbowl Scenic Gondola, traveling up to 11,500 feet. Enjoy views of volcanic field, the red rocks of Sedona, and maybe even the Grand Canyon. And relax and sip wine among the beautiful vineyards of Alcantara Winery.

Day One
Today we depart the Valley and head north for cooler temperatures in Flagstaff and the surrounding area. Copper has long been a vital part of Arizona history and economy, and you’ll witness a massive collection of more than 5,000 works of copper art at the Arizona Copper Art Museum. Tour through the exhibits and collections that are divided into six categories, including military art, kitchenware, architecture, and more. Then enjoy shopping and lunch on your own in downtown Cottonwood. Cottonwood is located in the heart of Arizona Wine Country, and you’ll find plenty of tasting rooms, restaurants, and boutique shops lining charming Main Street. Later this afternoon, we will make our way too Drury Hotel in Flagstaff for our overnight stay. Freshen up and get ready for a fun and delicious dinner tonight at Black Bart’s Steakhouse, Saloon and Musical Revue. The wait staff at Black Barts doesn’t just provide a fantastic dinner, but perform a Musical Revue including songs from Broadway, Disney, the 60s and 70s, and more! After your fill of food and fun, we’ll go stargazing and see where Pluto was discovered! During our visit to Lowell Observatory, you can take a self-guided tour and marvel at the beauty of the night sky at the Giovale Open Deck Observatory. Their collection of telescopes is one of the finest available for public observing. Lowell Observatory was established in 1894 and is a Registered National Historic Landmark.
DDay Two
Today, experience Arizona from a new perspective! After an included hot breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for the San Francisco Peaks and a Snowbowl Scenic Gondola Ride. Travel up to 11,500 feet, see the cinder cone volcanic field, the red rocks of Sedona, and maybe even as far as the Grand Canyon. With our feet back on the ground, we’ll start our journey home with a final stop for lunch and wine tasting at Alcantara Winery. A family-owned winery, Alcantara Winery is nestled in the vineyards of more than 20,000 vines. As you sip wine, take in the beautiful surroundings and keep your eyes peeled – you may spot a bald eagle! Take a final moment to bask in the cooler temperatures of northern Arizona before heading back to the Valley.
