Fly to sunny San Diego for a two-night stay and experience the highlights with a hop-on hop-off trolly tour. Visit the world-famous San Diego Maritime Museum, stroll through Balboa Park, or discover Barrio Logan. Enjoy time to explore downtown San Diego, Little Italy and the Gaslamp Quarter on your own.
Then embark on a four-night cruise aboard the elegant Holland America ship, Koningsdam. Visit beautiful Santa Barbara and marvel at the Spanish and Mission Revival architecture. Spend a day exploring the charming town of Avalon on Catalina Island.
Then, spice up your journey with the vibrant flavors and lively culture of Ensenada, Mexico.

Day One
From Phoenix Sky Harbor, fly to sunny San Diego, “the birthplace of California”! After checking-in to the Wyndham Hotel for two nights, spend the afternoon and evening on your own, exploring downtown San Diego, Little Italy, and the nearby Gaslamp Quarter.
Day Two
Breakfast is included at the hotel before a day aboard the San Diego Hop-on Hop-off Trolly Tour. Your narrated ride will stop at highlights throughout the City where you can get off, enjoy at your leisure, then hop back on. Explore the beautiful Balboa Park, one of the oldest parks in the United States, which also includes the world-famous San Diego Zoo. Or perhaps visit Barrio Logan, the oldest and most vibrant Mexican American community in San Diego, that includes art galleries, shops and eateries. Or you may choose to spend some time at the Maritime Museum, home to the Star of India, the world’s oldest active sailing ship. Whichever stops you decide to hop-off at, tailor your day in San Diego your way! This evening, enjoy dinner on your own at one of the many fabulous restaurants nearby.
FBDay Three
Enjoy a leisurely morning with an included breakfast at the hotel before departing to board the Holland America ship, Koningsdam. The Koningsdam is a beautiful ship known for its innovative design, including a double-deck Lido area, a theater, and a variety of entertainment and dining options. The ship sets sail at 3:00 pm, so settle in and explore the many amenities on board!
FB, DDay Four
Santa Barbara, California, 8am – 5pm- Today’s port of call is Santa Barbara, California. Santa Barbara showcases beautiful Spanish and Mission Revival architecture. Enjoy some shopping or visit one of the many wine tasting rooms near the cruise port. Or book one of the many excursions offered on-board (additional) such as Island Whale Watching, the Santa Barbara Trolly, The Old Mission or a visit to Solvang to explore on your own.
FB, L, DDay Five
Avalon, Catalina Island, 8am – 5pm - A visit to southern California isn’t complete without exploring today’s port of call, Avalon, on Catalina Island. Avalon is a beach community with a Mediterranean flair. Sailboats bob in crystal clear waters and the main street is lined with boutiques and restaurants in brightly painted bungalows. Explore the charming island on your own, or book an excursion through the cruise line, such as a Coastal Wild Dolphin Adventure, Catalina Seal Rock Safari, or a Coastal Sailing Adventure.
FB, L, DDay Six
Ensenada, Mexico, 8am – 5pm - Bienvenido a Mexico! Nicknamed the Pearl of the Pacific, Ensenada is a cultural hub of Baja California and the gateway to Baja’s wine route (Ruta del Vino). Here you can explore the bustling downtown area, shop for Mexican arts and crafts, or dine alfresco at one of the many outdoor bars and restaurants. Or choose to explore on an excursion from the ship such as Folklore of Mexico, Bufadora Blowhole Adventure, Calafia Valley Wine Country tour, or a Wine Country ATV Adventure, among many others.
FB, L, DDay Seven
San Diego, 7am- Our journey comes to an end today as we return to San Diego and transfer to the airport for the flight back to Phoenix.
