Antelope Canyon is nestled in the Northern Arizona town of Page, Arizona. On our way to our destination, we will stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post. Established in 1911, two brothers riding through saw a vision and need for the area. The Cameron Trading Post became a reality, visited by Navajo and Hopi locals to barter their wool, blankets and live-stock for dry goods.
Next Stop! A guided Tour of Upper Antelope Canyon. Hiking is involved, so please be prepared. (more information below on Ability Level Rating). Upon descent from the stairs of the hiking path, you will enter an amazing fantasy world of sandstone that has been carved by many years of wind and water. Tour guides will explain the surrounding geology, culture, history and insights. Keep your camera out for that perfect picture!
As you revel in your adventures of the day, enjoy a free evening at the hotel.
Guests must walk 3/4 mile consistently from start to finish. Navajo Nation enforced social distancing protocols, so guests do not congregate in areas. No seating to sit down to take breaks. When entering, there are flat uneven sandy surfaces throughout the canyon. When exiting the canyon, guests will walk up 17 steps with railing on both sides. It is a single file platform that has a gradual incline. When you are 1/4 Mile left there is 60-70 steps down to the tour vehicle.
If guests have any mobility issues, need breaks, have bad knees or needs assistance, this tour should not be booked.
Following the continental breakfast that is included in your package. We will begin our short journey to Horseshoe bend. Just 7 Miles from Antelope Canyon! This area is truly blessed with beauty and serenity. Horseshoe Bend overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River. A geologic masterpiece sculpted by the Colorado River approximately 5 million years ago, Horseshoe Bend is an example of what happens when water takes the path of least resistance. Creating the 270° bend in the river, called an "incised" or "entrenched meander", you see before you. There is a 3/4 of a mile hike to viewpoint. Glen Canyon Visitors Center and lookout points may be substituted for Horseshoe Bend for those who dont want to hike.
