Discover a striking landscape shaped by volcanic activity, then continue to Winslow for an overnight stay at the historic La Posada Hotel. Once a celebrated Harvey House railroad hotel, La Posada is known for its distinctive architecture, colorful gardens, and Southwestern art. Finish the day enjoying an included dinner with your fellow travelers at the renowned Turquoise Room.
After breakfast at the hotel, journey to Meteor Crater, one of the world’s best-preserved meteorite impact sites. Enjoy an included guided tour to learn how this massive crater formed and discover the science behind this extraordinary landmark.

Day One
Depart the Valley and travel north toward Flagstaff, enjoying the changing scenery along the way. Enjoy lunch on your own in Flagstaff before continuing to Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument. Explore the dramatic volcanic landscape, where dark lava flows and cinder-covered hills reveal the powerful forces that shaped this corner of Arizona. Continue to Winslow and check in at the historic La Posada Hotel, a beautifully restored railroad hotel originally opened in 1930. Designed by renowned architect Mary Colter, La Posada offers a distinctive blend of Southwestern architecture, art, gardens, and railroad history. This evening, gather for an included dinner at the hotel's acclaimed Turquoise Room, known for its Southwestern-inspired cuisine.
DDay Two
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for nearby Meteor Crater. Formed approximately 50,000 years ago by the impact of an iron-nickel meteorite, this enormous crater is one of the best-preserved impact sites on Earth. Take an included 30–40-minute guided tour to learn about the incredible force of the collision, the science of meteorite impacts, and the crater’s fascinating history. Enjoy an included lunch before heading back to the Valley.
