AKUREYRI - Is known as the "Capital of the North" and located near the Arctic Circle, is the second-largest town in Iceland. An industrial, shipping and dairy town on Eyjafjordur Fjord, 150 mi/240 km northeast of Reykjavik, it has a charming pedestrian shopping area, a folklore museum and botanical gardens that shouldn't be missed. 

 

ISAFJORD - Is a bona fide hive of industry. This busy fishing port runs to sizable shipyards as well as shrimp and fish factories.  Recreational activities around here include hiking, kayaking, and of course, fishing.

 

REYKJAVIK - Is the world's northernmost capital, Reykjavik (which means "smoky bay") sits on the southwest coast of Iceland. Surrounded by a ring of mountains and Faxafloi Bay, Reykjavik is immaculately clean, and visitors will find that it's easy to explore on foot.

 

WATERFORD - Founded by the Vikings, the town of Waterford, 85 mi/135 km south of Dublin, is Ireland's oldest city. Today it is home to the Waterford Crystal factory. You can tour the factory and watch crystal being made from beginning to end.

 

CORK -  Cork is Ireland's second largest city.  The city has gained a reputation for its burgeoning craft brewing scene, plus its proximity to the sweeping Atlantic coastline and picturesque maritime towns.
