Botanical Garden to Olive Oil Tour

FROM THE BOTANICAL GARDEN TO THE OLIVE GROVE!

 

Experience the lush beauty of the Upland Sonoran Desert at Arizona’s oldest and largest botanical garden, Boyce Thompson Arboretum. On your self-guided tour, you will see plant collections from the world’s deserts, historic buildings, and hidden gardens along miles of trails. The Arboretum, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, was founded in 1924 and sits on 400 acres surrounding Picket Post House, its founders winter home. Enjoy 4.7 miles of trails, many accessible, and gardens representing 11 different regions of the world.

 

At Queen Creek Olive Mill you’ll be enrolled in Olive Oil 101, a comprehensive class about the Olive Mill that takes you through the “Blossom to Bottle” process. Queen Creek Olive Mill is the sole producer of extra virgin olive oil in Arizona. Enjoy the class and tour, wander through the gift shop, and savor a farm-to-table style lunch in the grove.

-Kalamata: The Pork Shop Kalamata salami, genoa salami, capicola, herb roasted tomatoes, green leaf lettuce, provolone, red onion, zesty herb crema on Italian roll

-Belice: “Italian BLT” White balsamic glazed bacon, herb roasted tomatoes, mashed avocado, garlic aioli, green leaf lettuce on Italian roll

-Caprese: Heirloom tomatoes, garden basil, fresh mozzarella, drizzled with Balanced Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Traditional Balsamic Reduction, on house-made focaccia

-Queen Creek Chopped: Mixed greens, cucumbers, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, genoa salami, red onions, feta cheese, lemon vinaigrette with Meyer lemon olive oil.

-Olive Farmer's Caesar: Romaine lettuce, grana Padano, garlic croutons, lemon wedge, house made Caesar dressing.

-Olive Oil Cupcakes: (Choose One) Vanilla, Double Chocolate, or Meyer Lemon
