Description:
Enjoy the best of Canada's ocean playground as you spend three nights in Nova Scotia's capital city of Halifax and two nights on beautiful Cape Breton Island. The modern port city of Halifax is bursting with culture and heritage while Cape Breton Island truly offers a world of wondrous sightseeing opportunities, including the famous Cabot Trail. Also see the most popular tourist attraction in Canada, the picturesque fishing village of Peggy's Cove.
Itinerary
| Day 1 |
Arrive in Halifax and check in at your accommodations for a two night stay. Your vacation begins at a hotel that is ideally located in the downtown core.
|
| Day 2 |
Today enjoy a Gray Line Deluxe Historic Halifax City Tour and a Gray Line Peggy's Cove Tour. Our informative and fun filled ride through the city streets will immerse you in the history and culture of Halifax. You'll have time for a quick bite to eat on the waterfront before heading out to see and hear the crashing waves of Peggy's Cove. No trip to Nova Scotia is complete without a visit to this beautiful, rustic fishing village on the Atlantic Ocean. (Continental Breakfast)
|
| Day 3 |
Depart from Halifax on scheduled transportation to New Glasgow where you will meet your Tour Director and board your touring coach. Then proceed to Cape Breton Island - “the Scotland of North America.” Visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck to marvel at the many accomplishments of this genius. Spend two nights at a charming lakeside resort in the heart of Baddeck.
(Continental Breakfast, Dinner)
|
| Day 4 |
You’re off to experience one of the most picturesque drives in North America, the Cabot Trail. Cape Breton Highlands National Park is next, as you wind along this ribbon of highway, where the mountains meet the sea. The vistas abound as you travel over the flat-topped mountains. Also enjoy a whale watching boat tour (weather permitting). Tonight there is a “Farewell” dinner. (Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, Dinner)
|
| Day 5 |
The Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site awaits you. This reconstruction recreates one-fifth of the town of 1744 - words will not do justice to the scope of this tribute to New France. Roam the streets talking with some of the costumed guides who remain in character, or sample the sustenance of the era. Your tour continues along the shores of Bras d’Or to the mainland. The last night is at a downtown* Halifax hotel. (Breakfast)
*Guests traveling on early morning flights may prefer to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn – Halifax Airport. Please request this substitution at the time of booking. The coach will drop your clients at the Hilton Garden Inn and the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to the airport.
|
| Day 6 |
Atlantic Tours’ arrangements end on check - out from the hotel. (Continental Breakfast) This Tour Includes: Three nights accommodations, all ground transportation, all sightseeing and meals that are listed in the itinerary, professional tour director, GST tax. Airfare is additional. |
